Electric Vehicle Road Trip Guide

In honor of Black History Month, AAA-The Auto Club Group once again highlights its Black History EV Road Trip Guide, which educates drivers on electric vehicle (EV) ownership while exploring Black History sites in Georgia and South Carolina. The guide also addresses relieving range anxiety by including a map with EV charging stations for those ready to hit the road on this iconic adventure. In 2021, Georgia received $135 million in federal funds to support its growing EV infrastructure. The emerging EV infrastructure is expected to instill confidence in those considering purchasing an EV.

 “AAA understands the future of electric vehicles and is proud to support the more than 1200 miles of federally designated EV-ready alternative fuel corridors along its interstates and highways,” said Garrett Townsend, Georgia Public Affairs Director. “Currently, EVs represent less than 1% of the vehicles on the road. We hope the EV Road Trip Guide piques consumer interest in going electric on a journey free of range anxiety that celebrates historical resilience, courage, and the ongoing fight for equality.”

• Energy Efficient: Electric motors convert 75% of chemical energy from batteries to power the wheels.
• Environmentally Friendly: EVs emit no tailpipe pollutants.
• Performance Benefits: Electric motors provide quiet, smooth operation with stronger acceleration, requiring less maintenance.
• Reduce Energy Dependence: The electricity used is a domestic energy source.
