Florida Gas Prices Decline as Market Pressures Linger
Despite a small 3-cent uptick, Florida gas prices declined most of last week. Sunday's state average of $3.95 per gallon is 7 cents lower than a week ago, 7 cents higher than last month, and 88 cents lower than last year.
"Florida gas prices have seesawed week to week, after peaking earlier this month," said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA - The Auto Club Group. "They may move higher again soon, following increases in both oil and wholesale gasoline prices."
Last week, US oil prices surged $10.55 per barrel (13%), while gasoline futures rose 46 cents per gallon. Those gains reflected ongoing global supply concerns tied to the tensions with Iran and uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.

- Combine errands to limit driving time.
- Drive conservatively. Avoid aggressive acceleration and speeding. This reduces fuel economy.
