Florida Gas Prices Remain in Stable Range
Florida drivers saw a bit of gas price whiplash last week, but overall prices stayed within a familiar range. The state average fell to a weekly low of $3.01 per gallon early in the week, surged 12 cents per gallon by Thursday, then eased 6 cents through the weekend.
"Florida gas prices have cycled within the same 26-cent range since September 2024, reflecting ongoing market stability," said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA - The Auto Club Group.
Sunday's state average of $3.08 per gallon is:
- 3 cents more than this time last week
- 6 cents less than a month ago
- 25 cents less than this time last year
The U.S. price for crude oil remains relatively stable. Friday's closing price of $62.80 per barrel was down $1.08/b (2%) from the week before.

- Combine errands to limit driving time.
- Drive conservatively. Avoid aggressive acceleration and speeding, which reduces fuel economy.
- Remove excess weight in your vehicle. Every 100 pounds taken out of the vehicle improves fuel economy by 1-2 percent.

- Pay with cash. Some retailers charge more per gallon for customers who pay with a credit card.
