Fuel Prices Hold the Line Across Georgia

Georgia gas prices are holding steady this week despite continued volatility in the Middle East. Ongoing fighting in the region has kept global oil markets on edge, though recent ceasefire talks have helped calm prices slightly, easing pressure at the pump. At the same time, Governor Kemp’s suspension of Georgia’s gas tax continues to help slow how quickly prices are rising across the state. The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline remains unchanged at $3.71, though prices could continue to fluctuate in the weeks ahead as global factors evolve.

“Global tensions are keeping oil prices volatile, but Georgia’s gas‑tax suspension is helping prevent sharper increases at the pump,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA – The AutoClub Group. “With prices still subject to change, drivers should take advantage of simple ways to save whenever possible.”

Compared to recent benchmarks:

• 27 centshigher than last month
• 73 centshigher than this time last year

For those filling up a standard 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline, the cost is approximately $55.65.

National: Oil Market Optimism Brings Slight Relief at the Pump

The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline increased by just one cent this week to $4.12. Crude oil prices briefly softened following reports of U.S.–Iran ceasefire discussions, helping slow the sharp upward momentum seen in recent weeks. However, oil prices later rebounded, highlighting the continued volatility of global energy markets and the uncertainty surrounding geopolitical developments.

Electric:

The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station remained the same this past week at 41cents. Drivers can plan ahead by checking prices along their route with AAA’s TripTik TravelPlanner.

Regional Prices:

Atlanta- $3.72

The most expensive metro markets in Georgia are Savannah ($3.78), Valdosta ($3.76), and Macon ($3.74).

The least expensive metro markets in Georgia are Hinesville-Fort Stewart ($3.65), Rome ($3.63), and Dalton ($3.60).
