Minnesota Gas Average Drops Below $3 Per Gallon

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (November 4, 2024) –  Gas prices in Minnesota have trended down over the last weeks, and the statewide average has dropped below $3 per gallon at $2.98 in Minnesota, down 6 cents from last week. This price is 5 cents lower than this time last month and 31 cents less than this time last year. “We can expect slight drops in prices in the coming weeks throughout communities in Minnesota that are still over $3 per gallon as we near winter”, said Brynna Knapp, spokesperson for AAA.

Today, the OPEC bloc of oil-producing nations announced that it will continue oil production cuts through the end of 2024. This extension was made by the group to stabilize the market in a period of increased supply and weaker demand. “Along with record U.S. oil production and lower demand for oil, we’ll see the average cost per gallon remain at lower levels in the U.S. in the coming months, especially in comparison to recent years,” said Knapp.
